OK, so I had me wii softmodded with the homebrew channel, neogamma, usbloader and such and it worked great. Well, after updating to 4.2U nothing works. I've tried reformatting and reinstalling everything using the guides available here on the net but I cant get past getting the HBC installed. I install HBC, install dvdx and install boot2. But I can't go into the HBC after I install it. I click start to go into the HBC and the screen just goes black after that. What step am I missing here?
Cant get past step 2. Like I said, once I get the HBC, dvdx and bootmii installed in step 1 and reboot the wii and go into the HBC channel it wont load. The screen just goes blank.

I guess you can't use netflix while this is softmodded, huh? When I put the netflix disk in it wants to do a system update.
The guide you used said to NOT install Bootmii as Boot2. If you did't install Bootmii as Boot2 then you will have to load Bootmii from the Homebrew Channel in order to be able to do step 2 and make a NAND backup. Some people can install as Boot2 and some can't. I installed as Boot2 and have never had an issue.

I too am using a softmod 4.2u and want to use the Netflix disk. SHould I be concerned that wireless connection to the internet will screw up the soft mod? I run cios38 rev14 in slot 249. Also will there be updates needed when I insert the netflix disk?
