Updated Wii Burning Guide??

I've done searching but wasn't sure if there was an updated guide or not. The last one I see is from September 2008 and was just seeing if there was an updated/easier way. Looks like the first thing I'll need to do is get a LG drive that will allow my PC to read the discs...is that still the case?

Thanks and it has been only like 5 years since I've logged in lol

Look at soft mod and USB loaders - no need for discs the Wii can run them straight from a hard drive (it backs them up using the Wii drive)

There are also backup guides for softmods if you look hard enough. It uses homebrew to rip to SD Card/USB/WiFi..

Thanks to the both of you. I recently purchased a Wii that was modded, is there anyway to tell what type of mod I have? Later I can post the various items that I have on the main screen and maybe that would help determine what I'm working with and my best options. Thanks again!
