Sorry if this has been asked before. But I recently bought a Wii Sport Resort. When tried to run the game, It told me that I have to update my system. Is there any way I can update my system without bricking my Wii? Or is there any way I can play the game without updating?

Info about my Wii:-
Version: 3.3U (NTSC)
I have Backup launcher 0.3g002fix (with the Homebrow channel).

Any help would be appreciate it.

you will need to do the update for the game to work, as it needs 3.4 firmware. And that is what it is trying to update, You are totally safe to do the update from any disc as long as it is the same region as your wii EG:pal, ntsc, etc.
just do it.

Hi, I updated my Japanese Wii (I think it was 3.2U) before the update. I tried 2 Japanese games (Ougon no Kizuna) and Super Robot Wars Neo, both prompted for an update so I did.

Below was the result, please click on the links:

That is my Main Screen

And I cannot access Wii settings:

One game looks like this, it should be in Japanese but it is now scribbles:

Did anybody experienced this problem? I can still play games, though I am thinking of connecting the Wii online but I'm not sure if I set it up without going to the Wii settings.

Thanks in advance!

Go to the softmod guide in my sig.

Download the softmod pack.

Then follow the below sections...

cIOS38_rev14:

NeoGamma R7:

DOP-IOS:

If you want to update to 4.0 / 4.1 firmware then follow those sections.

If you want to be able to access the shop channel then follow the 4.2 Shop Channel v18: section.

After you do this I would stop using Backup launcher 0.3g002fix and start using NeoGamma R7.
