USB External HD Format question (USB Loader GX)

So I just installed USB Loader GX. The wii asked to format my external drive, which I did.

Now when I plug the HD into my computer, it can't read it, and wants to format it. Do I format it again? Was the initial format on the wii just so I could install USB Loader GX?

that is expected, you have to used a WBFS manager to read the HDD as well as load games into the HDD.

Windows/PC not able to read the format/content used in the Wii USB loader.

fiber is correct. When you plug the drive into your windows machine it will tell you that it isn't formatted because it can't read the wii file system. DONT let windows format it. Just ignore the error and install WBFS. When you fire up the program for the first time just select your drive from the list and click "load". You will see your games from there.
