usb loader gx won't read my hard drive

i just bought a new 160gb hard drive and i followed this guide to get my usb loadger gx and it worked buy now when i attach by hard drive andmy comp and any other comp can find it. but usb loader gx cannot. i run usb loader gx and it just says cannot find external drive, gives 2 cios options (249 and 222 i think) and asks to retry for 30secs.

Did you try the other USB slot?

If you have cIOS38_rev12 or above then only 1 of the USB Slots will work with the USB loaders.

i tried both usb slots i even tried turning the wii off NS PLUGING THE DRIVE IN THEN TRYING IT AGAIN STILL NO SUCESS:(
I FORMATTED BY HARD DISK WITH WBSF 3.0 AND I GOT USB LOADER GX V1
PLEase SOMEONE HELP MY HARD DRIVE IS WD 160GB

Hi there, I'm experiencing the same thing right now. More additional information. When i load the usb loader, the hard drive goes in a standby mode of some sort? i can tell because of the light on the hard drive

Have no power going to HDD when you first turn on the WII. Wait until you see the black screen with info and says hit A. After that screen shows up then put power to your HDD. Thats how I get it to work when it happens to me.

Also when the timer is counting down from looking for your drive. You can unplug the HDD and plug it back in to get it going. If the timer hits 0 you WII will lock up and then you will have to unplug the WII to get it going again.

Removing the USB cable to power down will not work in this work arround. You have to power off the HDD from the wall.
