I installed USB loader GX and so far it's working great but I cannot get it to install discs from the wii to the external drive. I put in a disc, it asks if I want to install, I say yes, the screen flashes and the menu screen disappears. I have to manually turn off the Wii and restart. Is there not a progress indicator, or did I mess something somewhere?

1) What format is your hard drive
WBFS - No Issues
FAT - Only reliable after rev900
NTFS - Still Tempremental - use rev921
What revision of GX are you on
874 - Latest Stable - only rip's to WBFS format
922 and above - issues with the loader - no longer reliably ripping.
If you used the installer and did not turn on Beta revisions in the loader then you will be on 874, if you turned on Beta revisions then you will have the problem as you will be at 929.
To check your revision, go to the credits page in the GX loader menu - in the top right it shows the revision.
You can download the .dol (will be named e.g. 883.dol - you rename it to boot.dol) put it into the apps/gx loader folder in your sd card (over write the other one). Delete all the .cfg files in the config folder.
When ripping discs, you put in the disc select yes (basic screen - white - is there for about 20 secs) then it tells you how big the file is and you select yes to install - then shows the progress screen.
If the game is a dual layer disc (Smash Brawl, Sakura wars) then the main game load must be IOS222.
When you did the softmod did you install all the custon iso's correctly 222, 223, 249, 250.
