Want to Update to latest firmware (soft modded)

My WII is currently softmodded its on 4.1U , i want to update to the latest firmware and give the wii to my dad. I dont want him to have any issues and if there is an update that he can update it through normal means and not have any issues. How can i accomplish this without bricking the WII. I dont care if can not be softmodded again.

If you just want to update it, then connect it to the internet and ask it to do an update, its a settings in the Wii menu

I guess my reserve about doing this was bricking the wii since it was soft modded. So doing so should not brick the wii?

Providing the Wii has not been region changed it should be fine. 4.3 can brick region changed Wii's.

You may still have to remove the Homebrew chanel and any forwarder manually (if you want to remove all visible signs)
