So I have a wii (1.33 fw I believe) with a wasabi zero I installed some months ago. (with what I think whatever update comes with the chip and update disc 1.3/1.4?)Only games that wouldn't play were MadWorld(locks up/error on loading 1st level) and Smash bros sometimes screws up on the intro movie and locks.

I got Cursed Moutain and Muramasa recently (on verbatim) and when I pop each one in, the wii disc menu just spins and spins and says "invalid disc" I can get back to the wii menu but at the same time, the disc drive keeps glowing blue and the discs will not eject at all. I had to do the "pull out power cable for awhile, plug back in and mash eject" trick, and then SOMETIMES it would kick out. I tried putting mario party 8 in and that reads and plays fine.
Is it trying to update without actually saying it's trying to update, or do I need to update the wasabi in order to read these new discs and stop being so dang hungry and eating them instead?
Thanks!

I would try updating your chip but also your wii's firmware as its pretty old now as V4.1 is out now

I got it working. I took the wii apart and checked the chip connection and pushed it down harder, but I also ran the wasabi setup disc and changed my settings on "import update blocker" to OFF. Now everything runs....I just can't get the right screws in the right spots! Doh! Gotta find the screw assembly guide.

I still don't get it though. The source of these games are domestic. Why would the import update blocker setting affect them?

And in regards to the firmware being 3.4u, I don't want to update because I want to install the homebrew channel and wads.
