hi is it possible to watch divx or avi films on a wii

Absolutely, I use Geexbox and/or Mplayer CE and they are both pretty perfect. your wiimote becomes a remote.

It will pick up from SD card or USB drive quite nicely...not tried DVD yet as most things I watch are in mpeg or avi format anyway.
