I've had a 500GB Seagate External HDD for a while now, but I've only filled it up to about 300GB. I want to keep all the data on the HDD, while partitioning at least about 100GB for WBFS.
I've searched for this question but what I've searched needed me to completely format the drive, and with the state of how slow my computer is I can't afford to spend days just backing it up. I know it's possible I'm just not sure how o_O
First off if i were you i would just consider buying a new drive - most seagates aren't wii friendly. but the answer is no, you have to back up all your files, go into disk management (left click my computer - manage - left side). delete the partition reffereing to your drive, create a new one(or two, just split it in whatever ratio you want [PC part/wii games].), format it to fat32(the wii one) and then launch WBFS manager and select the letter of the wii partition, format it, then load the games you want. but it most likely wont work with the wii, best chances are to buy a western digital 320 gb passport, only like $60 at newegg
It depends. I found myself in the same problem. You CAN do that, only if the rest 200GB is unallocated space. Then you can use the AcronisPartition Expert (it's not free, but I suppose you can find it, alternatively), and then make a new partition, unformated, and then format it to WBFS using the WBFS Manager 3.0
But as ^ said, it's not a good idea to use an already used external HDD. You never know what can go wrong. That HDD should be supported, but still. Better get the Western Digital Passport 160GB or +.
