I simply seek the simplest option to play backups on my Wii, which has the original wiikey installed, and my Wii has 3.2e firmware. Would I just need to brickblock the super mario galaxy 2 iso to play it on my Wii?

i would atleast update your wii to 4.2e since it doesnt effect the wiikey. Then brick block to play. If that doesnt work run neo gamma 8. Since 4.2e wipes your system of homebrew I suggest redoing it after the wipe or saving the homebrew channel via sd.
