Is it because i am using +R dvds ? do i have to use -R ?

I burned at 2 and 4 X and same thing.

I want to make sure that my un success is due to bad type of DVD or not .. please any help would be appreciated.

Use -R for best results.

If you use DVD+R you should be booktyping the media to DVD-ROM.

Use Verbatim or Tayio Yuden and burn at half the rated burn speed with IMGBurn.

You also might want to consider investing in a USB HDD device and load the backups that way instead of using DVD media.

I would second the use of a usb hard drive, I had a softmodded wii that my kids managed to break the dvd drive on, when I found out about usb hack I was pleased as punch!

How is this done? I have "Auto Change Book Type" checked in ImgBurn?

Cheers

I don't think the Pioneer can booktype.

So try using the LG drive.

Place the DVD+R media in the drive.

Now start IMGBurn.

Click on the book icon at the bottom right corner of IMGBurn.

Now choose the LG TAB.

Now set the below booktype options...

change for: Drive (for DVD+R media)
new setting DVD-ROM

After you set those options choose OK then burn the ISO to disc.

VERBATIM!!! I use -R and +R whichever is on sale at the time. I never adjust booktype. Just select the iso with IMGBurn and burn at 8x. Always works. I have some type of Phillips burner that came with my Dell desktop.
