i want too play dvd game backups,and iam unsure what version wii can do that.i have read the newest one cant play backups,but only through a program called loader gx.so if i go into gamestop,how will i know the wii i buy is the correct one?what can i ask them in order to figure that out?thanks

Any wii can play games off a usb stick.
Most older wiis can play DVDs, some cannot. It really depends which one you prefer. Discs or USB Loaders. If you want USB, it really doesn't matter which version you get, however if you want disc, you should consider a pre-owned wii or one made 2006-late 2009.
