My bro-in-law has a new LU72 WII. I want to mod it so he can play isos from usb and play homebrew.

Why would I upgrade it to 4.2 from 4.1?

I have a 3.2 Wii I soft modded and can play every iso including new super mario.

Does 4.2 give you any extra features over 4.1?

I am just scared of losing the ability to play backups or homebrew and emulators if I go to 4.2 as I am a little confused.

Version 1 PS2
Fliptop lid
Swap Magic 3.6
NEC 3250A 16x DL burner
Tayio Yuden 8x Media

Eat one live toad first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you for the rest of the day!

There is no advantage between 4.1 or 4.2 firmware.

4.2 was an attempt by Nintendo to block homebrew.
