Wii 3.4 U Won't Read SD Card

I was modding a 3.4U Wii and I ran into a problem. I was using the 4.2 Guide when it was a 3.4U Firmware. Stupid I know. Anyway, I deleted the homebrew channel in hopes I could start over now whenever I try to load the sd card the system freezes. Is it bricked? Or something entirely different? Thanks for the help!
