Wii boots up black and white when using component cables

I recently moved our entertainment center to a different room and the wii along with it. My softmodded 4.2u wii has been working flawlessly on our TV for 4 months, but now - after the move, it boots up in black and white. When I go to the wii display settings it won't give me the option to choose 480p anymore.
After searching around on google I concluded maybe I needed new component cables. But the new ones do the exact same thing.
I've tried several different things. The component cables (which also have a xbox 360 connector on them) work fine on the xbox 360, so I'm pretty sure it's not a bad wire. I've also tried different component inputs on our TV, but that didn't work either. The only way I can get it to play in color is to use the crappy composite cables.... haven't tried S-video. I can't find my s-video cable for the wii. Any ideas?

Note: I've heard that sometimes the wii can get stuck in PAL mode or something, but I've never to my knowledge tried to play anything in PAL on it. I read I can force NTSC using the anyregion homebrew, but I was a little afraid of bricking my wii since I haven't read if it's compatible with the 4.2u softmod guide that's on this site.

Sounds like your component cables aren't hooked up to the corresponding colors. You might have gotten the green and blue mixed up, as they do look rather similar. I know it's simple, but that's always the problem I've had with B&W over composite cables.
