Hi,
I have soft-modded a Wii tonight and have read through many tuts that my head is spinning, I found link and followed it(larrylj posted the link on another thread) soft- mod went perfect. I played a back up game from a DISC, Done loaded WBFS manager and formatted a Freecom Classic II 320G which is on the compatible list to WBFS, put a couple of game IOS onto the drive. Ran Configurable USB Loader on wii with HDD plugged into the lower USB slot and I get no games can be found?
Can someone inform me where I have went wrong?

Some quick thoughts.
1)Plug into the outboard (closest to the edge) USB port. Lower could be the wrong port depending on how you set your Wii
2)No games found or HDD not found?
HDD not found - possibly chipset not compatible
Games not found, something wrong when the drive was formatted or games not copied correctly.

Press any key to reset Wii
That the message I get.
HDD in correct USB slot, Formatted again using WBFS manager and couple of different games and re-checked compatible list for drive. all looks good till I hit Configurable USB Loader

make sure you're running cIOSX_rev20 with base 57 installed for IOS249.
ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

could be that you are missing files on Configurable USB Loader (re-check that you have both files on the SD card and YOU MUST HAVE THE SD CARD AT ALL TIMES WHEN RUNNING THE PROGRAM.
If that doesn`t work...update the Configurable USB Loader. If this still doesn`t work.
Do this..... (it has fixed alot of problems for many people even some that you would not think it would fix.
Disconnect all cables from the wii (meaning power cables and Video cables ect. Even disconnect from the cables that goes into the electricity.
Basically disconnect everything that has to do with your wii. Wait for about 30 - 1hour... people say 5 - 10 mins but I find it doesn`t hurt to leave it for 1 hr.
Then plug everything in and try running your HDD through Configurable USB Loader again.
You will be supriced what this simple procedure fixes.
My mates Wii`s fan didn`t work and also his USB connections didn`t want to work, he did the steps I just told you and WAH LAH!!! working again ^ ^

Doh.. what a N00b, I am. Of course Vato I had reformatted drive after Part 2 of mod instructions, not realising that the program files had to stay on the card for it to work.
Is there any way to run a loader without SD card in?

have a FAT32 partition on your hard drive, and treat it like a SD card. meaning put the apps on the drive like you would on a SD card
ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd

do you have to format the hard drive to wbfs? i have a hard drive with other info on it i would like to use it but dont want to format it and lose that info. can you just load the games onto a hard drive and neogamma recognize them like that?

Nah not is you have it formated to NTFS or FAT depends on the loader your using
WBFS is old stuff but more stable also harder to use because you cant acess the drive yourself
Thats why i like NTFS formatted its easy and you can keep everything on your drive
