hi

Im new here and the reason I decided to join this forum was because of a problem that has occurred with my wii drive key.

I installed my wii drive key this morning and it hasn't worked the way it should. I was able to install it easily and I am able to access the config menu - meaning I installed it correctly.

The settings I am using are the default settings but I still have a problem. The region override doesn't appear to be working.

Immediatly after installing I put the PAL version of shaun white snowboarding: road trip into my JAP wii. It didnt work/read.

I read on the wii screen but after I click start the screen was black. I decided to update my firmware so I updated the wii to the latest. 4.2.

Now when i insert the same disc, nothing happens at all. It just gives the question mark sign and the wii wont read the disc. In a way i feel this is a step back for me because at least before I was able to see the shaun white game screen before I clicked start. Could it simply be the disc? btw, I can still read/play my original JAP games

Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

To play PAL games try Regionfree utility. I use it to change PAL games to NTSC before burning iso.

For the rest...

I have the same problem, everything work fine with my Drivekey for about 2 months. After updating to 4.2 I can't read my dvds anymore. I can access the system menu of the Drivekey when I push 3 times eject button.

any idea to try?

thanks

thanks for your reply.

What is the "regionfree utility" do you mean the one that comes with the drive key in the menu? If that is what you mean, I have that ON. Is there something else that lets me play out of region games?

It's a small software and I use it to modify ISO directly before burning it.

Look at

Update...

I can play only backup games if it is in NTSC. I think all iso who I modify region can't be read after update 4.2. Maybe another region free utlity will work?

Hello,

Dannad007: I'm in the same boat as you. All my games were working fine before I updated (using the wii console) to 4.2, which seemed to be required before being able to play Guitar Hero 5. Now only a few of my backup games work. All my games are NTSC. Have you found a solution to get the rest of your games (iso's) working? I tried reburning but that did not work.

Thanks.
