I have installed the Wii drive key, and I can't get to the drive key menu. There were four dip switches present. 1 off 2 on 3 off 4 off (The instructions only show two). I push the reset button 3 times as instructed, and the game cube disc shows in the menu. When I click start the screen goes black and the Wii remote is unresponsive. Any ideas?
I really don't know much about Drivekey, but i do have a few theories:
1) Your wii could be semi-bricked. Check this out by seeing if you can access the settings menu. If you can't, you are semi-bricked.
2) Your pressing the wrong button. Try pressing the eject button instead.
3) Your wii's firmware is messing it up. What firmware version is it?
4) Your wii is from Korea. Korean wii's don't have GC Compatibility, meaning you would get a blank screen when loading.
If any of theories seem likely to you, please let me know.

I can access the setting menu, I can play regular discs, and even one backup. The firmware is v4.3u, and this may be the culprit. I was definitely using the right button to access the menu for the drivekey as it does show up initially.
Like I said before, I don't know much about modchips, but I think you may have the region switches incorrectly activated. You only have the NTSC-U switch activated, whereas it is meant to be activated like this: http://www.modchipcentral.com/store/imag...nstallation.png
As you can see from this picture, you need the JAP & PAL switches activated. Also, make sure that the ribbon cables are connected as they should and that the chip is protected by the insulation sticker provided with the chip.
In my opinion however, I'd scrap the chip & just use softmods. Your wii is currently on 4.3firmware, which kills the region capability on your chip. You'd only be able to play NTSC-U games even if you fixed it. Softmods can bypass this region security, & they also have a great deal more brick protection options. I advise removing your chip.
Of course, if you do want to fix your chip, & the advice I've given doesn't work, you can contact the crew at Ozmodchips & ask for their advice, they are specialized mod suppliers in Australia, so it be worth checking it out:
