Hi all

I've searched all over and I cant seem to find a straight answer so I thought i'd ask over her.

I have a Wii that has never been opened and has Backup Loader installed.

All of a sudden the Wii has decided not to take discs anymore!

When the disc is inserted into the Wii drive the motor starts to spin, as if taking in the disc, but it just doesnt grab the disc.
The motor then spins back and stops and i'm left still holding the disc.

Any ideas??

Thanks in advance

Mart

this is obvious your wii motor is messed up. Im expecting it to be a problem with the gears inside, somehow one of them got loose etc. You are going to need to open up your wii and open up the wii dvd drive. Once its open you need to see if the gears are in place or has one fallen out and needs to be placed in properly. Look up guides on how to open up your wii and dvd drive.

Are these original or backup discs?

Edit: I had to read the post again...This definitely is an internal issue with the Wii system. Repair info can be found below.

I don't think it would make any difference if it's not taking them in at all. I agree with drive motor problem.

sending your wii back to nintendo is going to cost you a hefty 80 dollars to repair the motor and they are just going to do what you can do yourself with a few tutorials.

I suggest opening up the wii. Use a tri wing screw driver and a phillips. Read tutorials on how to get to the dvd drive itself. Flip the dvd drive upside down and remove the 6 screws at the bottum. slowly lift up the dvd drive and look at the gears on the bottom plate. Check the motor that has a rubber band attach to it to see if its lube enough. Make sure the wii lens can move up and down by moving it yourself. If its stuck lube it up with some wd 40. if all the gears are already in place then there is a little spring that pushes the wii disk out and in when the eject button is pressed. Make sure that spring is properly seated.
