Tried adding an external hard drive. The USB loader program reformated my external drive with WBFS format. When I try to do the Wii dvd dumper cios 1.2 I get a message that says "mounting device and creating ISO...error. Press button to restart". Any ideas why this won't work?? Thanks!
Also with this program when the guide says "split" the program, what does that mean?

AFAIK the wii DVD dumper program will only dump to a FAT or FAT32 device, or over wifi to a PC. It can't read WBFS partitions. So that's why it errors when trying to mount the device. The split option is for small devices and the fact that FAT and FAT32 partitions cant handle 4+gig files.
Anyway, I see 3 options for you.
1) Reformat the device to FAT32, dump the game in chunks, merge them with hjsplit on your PC, convert them to .wbfs files, put them back onto the USB device and play them with your USB loader.
2) Use DVD dumper to dump the games to your PC via wifi and load them to the USB drive that way.
3) Just dump the game to the WBFS partition with the USB loader. On most loaders, you just press the + button on the wiimote to dump a game.

So on step 3, I already have my USB External Drive formated to WBFS, what your saying is I should be able to go into USB Loader GX and press the + button and game will dump on to the USB External Drive that I have. Seems to easy, what am I missing???
I have the whole drive formatted to WBFS, would this be a problem?

With the configurable USB loader and I believe the GX loader as well that is all you need to do. I'm not sure if other loaders are that easy.
And it doesn't matter if it's the whole drive or just a WBFS partition.
Also, most loaders can read FAT32 partitions exactly as they do with WBFS ones, while having the advantage of the drive still being readable by a PC.

OK did what you said and hit the plus button and the games installed on my external. I tried Madden 10 and Tiger Woods 10 and the games would lock up everytime. Madden never made it past the initial loading screen but TW10 was able to load until game play and then it locked up but then the next time it never made it past the home screen. I can tell these game sizes are pretty big so I decided to try a snall game Wii Sports and that game ripped fine and played fine. Is there a game size issue with these games?
Also tried to load it with Config. USB loader and it did the same thing just locked up on the loading screen.

I'm not sure but it sounds to me like your cIOS's or wii firmware are out of date.
What is your wii firmware, and is it all small games that are working or just wii sports? Because an issue with the firmware would explain why an older game works while newer ones crash.

I'm at work right now, but I just bought the Wii last week and updated it I think to 4.2 before trying any homebrew stuff. The only ones I have tried is TW10, Madden 10, Wi Sports.
So I think my firmware is up to date. When you say cIOS(parden my dumbness but all this stuff is blending together)How can I find out what version? And where to update?
