i was surprised that i was unable to find any discussion about this on the net..

is there any way to mod the wii and and make it output an hdmi signal?

i am aware of the dolphin emulator. but that requires ungodly expensive hardware in order to function satisfactory...
and it would be nice to make an hdmi-compatible wii.

They make component to HDMI converter boxes, but they're somewhat expensive. Even if you did buy one though you'd find that you're still getting a 480p signal over the HDMI cable.

Why? Because the wii's hardware only outputs at 480p. That's as high as it goes and that's it.
