First you need to softmod the wii. Personally I like this guide but there are plenty of others out there that you can use http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=171901

Once your wii is modded, you can install a USB loader. USB loaders are homebrew apps that run on the wii, not windows or mac programs. Wiiflow and USBLoaderGX are both fine USB loaders, though I prefer the Configurable USB loader. It has a few more features that the others dont support.

Once that's installed, you need to get games onto your hard drive. If you have the original disk you can just pop it into the wii while your USB loader is running and copy it to the drive. If you don't have the original disk then you use WBFS manager to copy iso files onto the hard drive.

WBFS manager is a windows program, but there is a mac version with the same functions available here http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=214002#entry2668479

The filesystem on your drive can be either NTFS, FAT32 or WBFS. Iso isn't a filesystem, its a file type.

For NTFS and FAT32 formatted drives, you need to convert the iso files into wbfs files (not to be confused with the WBFS filesystem) and then drag and dropped directly to the drive.

WBFS formatted drives cannot be read directly by mac or pc. They can only be read by specialized programs like WBFS manager, which will automatically convert and copy an iso file to the drive.

So if i format the drive FAT32, i can drag ISO files directly onto the drive and they will run ok?

Read carefully please.

You cant even drag complete iso files to a FAT32 formatted drive at all, much less have them run that way, because FAT32 won't support files over 4gb. Converting the files to .wbfs files will trim them down to the real size of the game (sometimes as low as 100-200mb) and split files larger than 4gb into multiple parts.

Once you've done that then yes, you can just drop them into their own folders in a folder named 'WBFS' in the root directory of the drive and it will run fine.

Question regarding converted files. I converted an ISO file to .wbfs. I now have a .wbfs of 4.2GB and a .wbf1 of 168MB. Do i need to use both files in a single folder on the external drive?

I've heard of wii unlocker ultra, which is a scam. Someone is just selling a bundle of free software with lousy instructions. Most people that buy it end up here or another forum trying to find someone who can tell them how to use it.

Not all games will shrink below 4 gigs when converted, so they'll automatically be split into separate parts. So if that happens then yes, you need both parts in the same place for it to work.

I have formatted external drive in FAFT64, is that ok?
If i hace a game called X, with two files X.wbfs and X.wbf1, do i have to put them on external drive on the root or do i put them in folder called X?

I think you mean FAT64. I'm not sure if that will work, but feel free to give it a shot and let us know. Worst case scenario is that it doesn't work and you need to reformat and reload the files again.

And the folders are arranged like this

Drive letter:/WBFS/game name/game files

I changed the drive to FAT32.

I have Wii/Tiger Woods 11[STWP69]/STWP69.wbfs

That look ok?

With having MAC OSX it looks like this "Wii/wbfs/STWP69/STWP69.wbfs"

Where Drive letter = Wii

Cheers

Renting or borrowing the game are options as well, you dont need to own it, just have it long enough to do the hack.

And I know it looks daunting but the guide is really very easy if you follow it step by step and dont skip any parts unless it specifically says they're optional. I really can't stress that enough. I dont know how many people I've had to help who claim to have 'no idea' why things aren't working, then after a few questions I find that they've only done half the guide because they 'didn't get the rest of it so just figured it wasn't important.'

All loaded and USB loader working. I have transferred originals onto external HDD via the Wii and they vary from 0.82GB to 4GB. When i use WiiJManager 8.0 for Mac and convert to .wbfs they are all 4GB. Why does WiiJManager not reduce the file size? Also i have tried downloading 2 games that i have damaged disks of, on sites i see scrubbed files???
