Wii homebrew black screen?

Hi I just recently added the homebrew channel. I put the files correctly on my SD card. I can get to the install boot.elf screen where it says homebrew channel can be installed as well as dvdx and boot mii. I can install all of them and than when i hit exit after I get done installing them I get a black screen and i have to take out and reinsert the power cord and the wii boots up fine. When I get to the wii menu the Homebrew channel is there but it when i select it, it just takes me right back to the wii menu. I have all the folders correctly placed on the Root of the SD card too. As well as some apps. but the Homebrew channel will not load after I install, or when i select it after i pull the power cord? Can someone please help? I am running on 3.2U
