This is my first time back posting for a while so I hope you bear with me. I recently bought a Wii console that my son now loves. This console has been pre-modded as I don't understand anything about modding :( It was modded with a sunkey solderless mod chip and that is about all I know, except that I don't update or format or it will be bricked (warning with the console).
I was told that I could play burnt Wii games and is region free, so I then downloaded a Wii iso game "the New Mario Bros" in PAL version. I then burnt this to a disc and thought, great I can now play this.
When I put it in the console it recognised the disc and brought up the first 2 seconds of the intro and then went back to the main screen. Thinking it was the disc I did it again but same result.
I have been to some other forums (I won't name them). I found them very unhelpful and full of people who seem to think they are 'the man' or 'the woman'.....lol
I know these questions can be very annoying but I am totally new to this area. Can anyone tell me step by step a way to get the iso's I download to play on my console with the modded sunkey chip. I would really appreciate a way that will work as I am stating to get confused. Thanks.
hmm... i dont know why you would buy a modded wii. you can do it yourself with a simple sd card, get and iso and put it on a hard drive, connect the hard drive to the wii usb ports, and play the game from there.
But, what are you burining it with, and i recommend 2x for best gameplay
Thanks roydude...I will try a different iso but as stated I saw a deal with a pre-modded and I did not want to make a mess trying myself so I bought it. Besides if anything goes wrong the modder gave a warranty, the mrs likes that idea and so did I.
Any other suggestions besides trying a different iso?.
search before posting a new thread. there are a dozens threads you could have read through already if you had searched before posting.
New Super Mario Bros has some Anti Piracy Protection on it. There is a patch you need to install to play from disc. Most people with mod chips only and no homebrew or softmodding are still having issues getting the game to play.
Mine plays fine off disc on a softmodded wii. It also plays fine off a usb drive. The game does not play ok on my Wiikey wii with no soft modding. It also will not play even with the patch on my friends Wii with a D2CKey
If you want this game find and install the patch and try it out. If it still doesnt work, then softmod your wii. It will be fine to softmod with your chip installed.
