i was trying to put in the back yard sports game(base ball). im not too sure the firmware but i know it has just been updated recently when a game was put in it got updated.
ive tried backing up two more games since then and thet are all just coming up saying disc error as if it the wrong disc that hs been inserted into the wii.
also when i went to the main menu on the wii too check the setting too try see the frim ware they are no appering. the screen goes black and then says you are trying too access info that is currently not avaialble. does this mean its semi bricked? i think i heard this online some where

You need to check your Wii to see what FIRMWARE it has. As new games come up they sometimes have new IOS files that are required to play the new game. In most cases the updates on the disc contain the required IOS files needed to play that game.
They also in some cases contain new FW versions that block softmods.
Search wiki forums for a listing of what IOS files each games requires. Then you can google that particular IOS or wad file and install it via the wad manager.
You could install pre-loader to block updates from being loaded. That will stop the Wii from showing or running the updates. YOu could also use wiiscrubber to remove the updates from game before burning it to disc.
Wanikoko has a 4.0, 4.1, and 4.2 firmware updater out. YOu could google those and just update to a newer firmware. That will take care of most your issues most likely. I used them and they worked fine. Easiest way to update your system without removing the old softmod and reinstalling it.
If your below Firmware 4.0 you should just update. I am using 4.0 on two wii's and both play all games and all homebrew works just fine.

I missed your comment about not being to get to the system menu. Yes, you are semi-bricked. Sounds like you updated your system with an out of region disc possibly.
Upgrading to the newest firmware will most likely correct that, but beware, I have heard updating a hard modded system with 4.2 removes the chips ability to play out or region games, ie if you have an NTSC console you will no longer be able to play pal games.
I'd try Waninkokos firmware updated if I was you. If your under 4.0 that is the point where SDHC support comes in so just bump yourself up to that.
sorry to have ask again lol so do i put the Waninkokos firmware update on a sd card or a dvd too put the updates into the wii? ive never done an update other thatn when u insert a game and it asks u too update that way.
if you're just going to use your mod chip and not use homebrew/usb loaders then just update your system. It won't harm you system in any way. Even if you do want to use homebrew/usb loaders you can still update your system just makes it a little more tricky.
