First, here's what you need.
A Wii with homebrew channel
A 2GB or larger sd card with xwhiite linux on it (maybe bliight/archii will work too).
A USB keyboard.
A USB ethernet adapter unless you have wireless working.

Recommended:
USB Mouse and a USB Hub to make things easier

If you do not have xwhiite, there are tutorials floating around on how to install it.

Howto:
First, you must be connected to the internet.

1. On the wii boot up xwhiite and open xterm

2. Type "su" (no quotes) and it will ask for a password. For xwhiite the pasword is "whiite"

3. Type "apt-get install xfce4". It will install xfce4, taking about 10 min or so.

4. Reboot the wii and open wii linux again. it will start into xfce.

And there you have it.
