wii Lu64 v 4.2u need soft mod help

I have a wii lu64 v4.2u I have tried many guides to soft mod so I can play back ups or to play from a sd card. I can get the HBC to load but boot1 will not allow a boot2. I try to load it as an IOS, it asks me put it another sd card but I get err-1 I don't think it is recognizing the card. Everytime I try to exit hackmii installer it freezes. Stuck and need some Pro help! I don't want to have to hard mod but if I have to any sugestions?

Is the HBC installed and wont launch or you cant install it? If you cant install it make sure its version 1.0.6 or maybe try a different SD card. Is the SD card formatted FAT32? Are you using microSD card with adapter?

wait. reading your post again makes me think your trying to install bootmii? please clarify what step you are doing and what guide your using.

I can get HBC to load just fine. It's the bootmii I'm having trouble with. The latest soft mod download I found was V2 ultimate wii 4.2 softmod by Ninja. SD card is 4GB PNY optima sdhc no adapter FAT32 format. Do you think this may be too big of a card? I have done some more research and people are saying that some wii's have a fixed boot1 that won't allow this type of mod. I'm not sure. I have tried multiple guides with the same outcome.

If you have a newer system you can not install Bootmii to Boot2. You will need to install it as an IOS. Some SDHC SD cards can cause issues. I would recommend using a non-sdhc card to softmod. Use the 4.2 softmod guide in my sig.

I'll pick up another card and give your guide a try thank you. I'll let ya know how it goes.
