Guys i'm a newbie to the wii forum and i had a question. Whats the difference between using the homebrew with and without the modchip? doing with the sd card and Zelda would be the cheapest route but i see alot of people using modchips.Thanks.

Well welcome to the homebrew scene its definitely cheaper to go to the soft-mod way there are only a couple of downsides

1. you can not play 100% of your backups mabey like 95%
2. you can not play dvd-r's that you made

pros

1. you can take a external hardrive and save all your backups and play them from there
2. you are able to do almost everything a mod chip can
searching alittle on

not true you can not update until they found a way around the new update ( usually around 2 weeks after the update officially released.

if you do update before then you cant not play backups or homebrew then you have to wait till the find a way around it
