The best thing to do when you're new here is to try looking around just a little bit.

4.2 softmod guide.

USB loader guide. You will likely need to use a USB loader if you have a new wii, since new wii's being sold now lack the ability to read burned disks. The hardware has been modified and the ability cannot be restored, even with a modchip.

There sure is. Search google for wii serial numbers and there are a couple of sites out there that allow you to put the serial number of your wii in and they will tell you what drive chip you have.

i have a wii key modchip, recently updated it to 1.9. I've done a search via google, wiihacks, and even replied to a few post here. All I need to know is if I update my wii shop channel (because it's asking me to) will I be able to play my backups or will the Wii Channel Update render my console useless?

This is an older drive so you will be able to play back up games on DVD.

@redcape
If you take the shop update via nintendo you will be on 4.2 sys menu,the only effect it will have on your mod chip is remove the region free ability,can be bypassed with startpatch or priiloder.
You can manually update the shop channel with wiiscu or nusd or update to 4.2 following larrylje's guide to get everything to date.

Hi guys.

I recently bought a Korean Mod-Wii set (4.0U) and the dealer demo-ed to me how he run games through his harddisk by going through Wii Flow channel. It works perfectly fine.
However, when I tried to run my own games from my harddisk through Wii Flow, it doesn't work and goes back to Wii main menu everytime.

My harddisk is formatted into WBFS format, with about 60 ISO games inside. The games are all image files that are transfered into the WBFS harddrive through WBFS Manager 3.0

Please tell me what should I do to play my games on my Harddisk?

Help =(
