Hi.I softmodded my 1st wii last night to 4.1.everything works fine apart from i cannot access the shop channel.it says i have to use system update.Will that update me to 4.2fw? I dont want to update to 4.2.On my sd card i have in my home brew channel an option for 4.2 shop channel.Is that the same update or is that ok to use? Thankyou in advance.

Yes. You can use WiiSCU to update the Shop Channel. Alternatively, you can download/pack the latest version in WAD format using NUSD, and install it customarily using WAD Manager.

Thanks for your reply.I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to the Wii.I'm into modding the 360.How would i go about downloading the wad using nusd? I'm familiar with that program but not wiiscu.

I'm away from my comp right now. I think you need to click on System up top, and then choose IOS then Shop Channel, version 18.

I have a wii key modded console. I just recently updated my wii so I could play the NSMB. I wanted to do some shopping on the WiiShop Channel and it's not working. It says I need to do a wii system update but I just did it. What should I do?
