wii softmodding question

hey all
i have recently bought a wii that is one year old and it came with a bunch of games and i would like to back them up.
i would like to know what is the most current FW and guide on softmodding the wii.
and is there any programs out there that will pretty much mod the wii for me. cause i have heard of people doing in about 5 min.

Well, there are three guides for different Wii System Firmwares, 3.1-4.1, 4.2 & 4.3. I need to know what your system firmware is before I can give you a guide. You can check by going into the Wii's "Settings" Menu, & 2 numbers & a letter will be displayed at the top-right hand corner of the screen.

Here are several good tutorials for installing Homebrew, including 4.3. Some also discuss many other hacks such as installing USB Loader. To me, USB loader is the real reason why you should hack your Wii in the first place; that and Priiloader for brick protection.

Hello 12137. . . Just wanna know if do i need to update to 4.1 firmware before I could use the softmod software? Im currently on 3.4e firmware. Thanks a lot in advance. . . regards
