If you update from the normal nintendo firmware update it will delete all softmodding done to your wii.
The only way around this is to to do a safe update. (You can look around on the net for this).

Also why are you trying to update? If you have softmodded your wii you should not be needing to update at all just installing IOS if some games need them.

What firmware are you trying to update to?

When i burn iso (New Games) on to disc when you load the game it asks you to update and there is a message there what says if you update and there is any mod on your wii this will uninstall your mod,

I dont no what mod is on my WII as i got it with mod already on the wii, Ver 4.1E

Also when i go to the System update on the wii i get the same message re the uninstalling of Any mod if updated

Thanks

if the homebrew channel is installed on your menu, then it's softmodded. otherwise, it's hardmodded.

either way, you'll need to install priiloader to block all updates.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

From what you wrote here....it seems your wii is hardmodded with a Modchip. Probably Wiikey Im guessing.
In that case you need to install a loader that blocks the updates like Neogamma or GeckoOS.
Then on the settings you can choose to block up dates when you run a game from a DVD.
Either that or use Brickblocker to take out the updates from the games. (but this is an old method some people still use).
Or install prilloader like mentioned above me, although I have never used it myself.
