sorry to ask such a silly question, but is it ok to run the latest update on the wii with my original version 1 wiikey my firmware was updated about 6 months ago when i last connected it to the internet, after connecting to the net today it requested to do an update with a message about modifications causing the update to stop the wii working??

is this true for wiikeys or just soft mods, i only use backups of the games i buy as the kids play the games and i want to keep the originals safe, i have not had a game so far that hasnt worked on the wiikey as a backup
