I have a softmodded Wii with a WD WD10000H1U-00 harddrive. I formatted the drive so that it is 500gb Fat32 and 500 wbfs. I have lost the WD software to be able to change settings on the HD. I have tried to reinstall it from the WD website, but have had no luck. I keep getting .Net framework installation errors. Does anyone have another way to use a batch file or something to prevent the spin down. I have no other issues except that some games freeze up because the HD is stopped. Usually, the Wii goes back to the main menu. Thanks in advance!

The only problems that I have had with my WD 500 HD is when I would load Wad Manager and try to load Wads from my USB. Ever since Triiforce, my USB and Wiimote are acting crazy.
I wish the G#W@# D#@$ HD would shut off when you turned off your Wii. PS2's only did that. My HD would stay lit after I turned it off and so I would have to unplug everything.

It should shut off if you power down to "red" on the Wii. that will cut power to the USB port.

wiiconnect24 keeps the usb ports on. as for the spindown issue, that's what you get for getting a prebuilt. always better to build one, since most bare hard drives don't have the spindown.

if that doesn't work, then you're pretty much stuck.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .
