Re-install Preloader from HBC (if you can). Seemingly, you can try to re-synch via HBC.

Yes. It should fix the problem. Download this file. You only need the boot.dol. Rename it (the boot.dol) to HBC.dol and place it in the root of your SD card. Boot into Preloader and select Load/Install option. You should see HBC.dol file there. Install it (A on the Wiimote). After installation (on that same screen) load it (1 or Z on the Wiimote). It should take you to HBC. Now, try re-installing Preloader. In the midst of all this, do you have a GC controller on hand?

Before you try the instructions below, try pressing Reset button on the Wii while on HBC. It should bring you to the System Menu. Once there, re-synch your Wiimotes.

On the SD card:
Download Gecko OS. Once the download is complete you need to make sure (as there are sub-folders) you go into GeckoOS107b folder and then HBC folder. Once there, you should see another GeckoOS107b; this is the folder you need to put in the apps folder in your SD card.
On Preloader:
Set the Shutdown To option to Preloader and make sure you save your settings in Preloader. Now, go to HBC (via Preloader of course). Then launch a Wii game through Gecko OS, and synch the Wiimotes. Now, press the wiimote power button to shutdown. It should return to Preloader with synched Wiimotes. From there, fire up HBC one more time and run the Preloader installer by pressing 1 on the Wiimote. When it finishes installing, you should be able to boot the System Menu.
