Right after I agreed to a 4.3 sytem update so I could play one of the newer Wii games, my backups stopped working. I had not had this problem before with them. I'ver read over all the discussions and am generally seeing that with a hard mod (Wiikey 2 in this case, which has it's latest firmware update to 1.3), I should not have had a problem updating to 4.3. Titles I can't play are Wii Sports Resort, Batman Beyond, Iron Man, etc... (games that had been working for me for quite awhile).
Is there any way to trouble shoot this that anyone knows of (besides the looooong process of soft modding)?
if those backups are not from your region, you killed it with the 4.3 update. otherwise, it would still be working.
and why are you complaining about softmodding? it's free, and usb loaders stomps on backup games. if you want a copy of the game, buy the originals, simple as that.

Sorry, just not sure of myself being able to follow the long sets of directions I've seen - do you think that is the ONLY way? All my games are NTSC and my Wii's region remains set to USA (backed up using RawDump 2.0 and burned with imageburn).
I belive something is going on that has not been widely discovered yet. I don't think it could be the mod chip or laser...... as I haven't inserted dirty disks nor have I moved the Wii around (+ I installed the chip with a Wiiclip).

and the only way to stay on a old menu is to softmod and install the missing IOSes.
best thing to do is just softmod, and break out the original discs so you can rip them to a external hard drive.
Thank you. What is the best set of instructions for softmodding? I understood this may be more simple than I thought. I would download to an app to a formatted SD card, put that in my WII, and I should be on my way to backing up on SD cards (multipe games on each card)?
