Hey there,i have a wiikey 2 installed in my wii, and has been there since christmas. But last week i put a dvd in my wii, it may or may not have been a wii game but whatever it was it made my wii come up with a strange black box, saying there was an error or something. i took the game out of my wii imediently, turned it off, and restarted it. now backups dont run properly, at first it just wouldnt read the games that i backed up my self (i used a GDR-8163B, has anyone had problems with it?) anyway now its starting to not play most other games that have worked perfectly in the past, its comes up with: The game Disc could not be read. Please refer to your Wii Operations Manual for more information". anyway is there some way to maybe reset my wiikey bios or something. ive already formated my wii system memory... did nothing. please help. whats going on?

My only question is what was on the disc? o.o

Is it possible for a disc to run something over your Wii to cause it to do something like this?

Do you have BootMii installed with a back up NAND? That'd be your best bet, I think.

Yes, you install it through the Homebrew Channel, and you must be able to install it on boot2 to be most affective. I don't think it's going to help you in this situation, though. It's always good to have it installed, though.

http://bootmii.org/

Basically, it boots up before your Wii and before preloader(Only before preloader if BootMii is installed on boot2). In the settings of BootMii there's two SD card related options. The first with the green arrow backs up your Wii's entire memory(NAND) to the SD card. In a situation that something like this happens, and something gets screwed up, you can come back to this area, choose the second SD card option(red arrow), and swap out your Wii's memory for the older file, restoring it of any errors.

Sadly, you've already had the problem before installing BootMii, so you're going to have to find another way around the problem. I wouldn't be as much help here. I'm sure someone will come along and see the post and help you out, though.
