Hello everyone,

I tried finding the answer but i couldn't get it.
I haven't been using my wii lately and now the missus wanted to play Endless Ocean 2. I updated my Wiikey 2 to version 1.3, but for some reason the Wii tells me that there has been an error.

My first question is: Does this have something to do with the Wii update to version 4.2? I haven't done this yet due to the fact that I don't know if it's safe. And if it's safe what the consiquences are... (Older burned games not working anymore etc.)

Secondly, does using verbatim dvd-r with Imgburn and Wiu 1.1 still suffice to burn? I remember trying it 1 or 2 weeks earlier but I didn't get a game to work then either...

So in short: Should I update my wii to 4.2 and is it safe and if not what am I doing wrong???

Ps I have an European Wii, the game is Pal and the update is blocked (with Wiu)

Oke so i actually updated my wii... I was figuring: The wiikey is outside of the wii (sort of) so it couldn't do any harm... But now the same error keeps popping up...
I don't get it, i am using the same burnprog as always (img burn) the same media (verbatim dvd-r) and the same speed (4x - actually my only option cause as soon as i select 2x or even 1x it states a write speed miscompare and it automatically goes to 4x) the burner is also nothing new, but still all i get is: there has been an error please remove disk and reset the wii

Any help or possible solutions??? Please???

If you have a hardmod with just the wiikey 2 and nothing else then you should be fine with the 4.2 update. I have a NTSC wii with wiikey 2 update 4.2 and all of my old and new games work fine. If all of your disc are getting a read error then it sounds like either the iso that you are trying to burn is a bad copy or the imgburn needs to be reinstalled. I would suggest downloading another copy of imgburn and uninstall the old one. If the copy of imgburn you have now keeps kicking you back to 4x when you try to use 2x then it sounds like imgburn is messed up and that could mess up your burn and cause you to get the error when you try to play them on the wii. Start with the imgburn replacement first if that doesn't work try dling a new copy of the iso.

Thanks for the reply I will try re-installing imgburn... Just hope the write miscompare is solved then... All i can burn with atm is 4x
