tried the regular way of sync through the wiimote and wii system and nothing. the lights just keep blinking ....

Try holding the red synch button on the Wii for approximately 15 seconds; then press the one on the Wiimote.

sometimes you have to press A to get them to sync up. I had one that kept blinking when trying to sync. What I did was pressed the red button on Wii then pressed the red button on Wiimote then pressed A a few times and it finally synced.
