i got my wii chipped a long time ago and it was the 1st edition wii ninja is there anything i can do to play new games?

You could do three things:

1. You could update the system menu
2. You could get a newer modchip
3. You could install the IOS the game needs to run.

What game are you trying to run?

hi thanks for the reply im trying to run redsteel 2... i have no idea how to do this but it's stopped working on alot of new games..so i need something simple to do pref software based im no good at soldering...

Update the wii online, then softmod. The first gen wiinja was not updatable so there isnt much you can do with it anymore to make recent games work. Luckily, modchips aren't needed anymore. Follow this guide to softmod the wii once it is updated. http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=171901

Red Steel 2 is a 4.1 update, it should be safe to update from the disc, but you can use WAD Manager to install IOS53-64-v5149. WAD & then the game should run. Games always run independant of the system menu.
