AVI to iPod TV shows

I have numerous AVI files for TV shows that I used to play on my Creative Zen player. Now that I have an iPod, I can convert the AVIs to MP4s to play them on my iPod, but that just makes them show up under movies. How can I get the files to show up on the iPod as TV shows, so that I can navigate through them easier? Thanks!
