mp4 player plays only 2 seconds of video

I searched for over an hour for help to get my mp4 player to play the whole video not just 2 seconds of it.
Then I asked my daughter. Here's what she said - it worked. When the video comes up for you to select to play click on bring up the Menu window, then hit the Repeat option, then hit Normal and it will play the video all the way through. Teenagers Rock!
