I'm not quite sure exactly what happened, as it was on my mother's laptop... But the gist of it is, she clicked "Yes" on some Antivirus popup, and it installed something.

5 minutes later, it prevents me from opening any Internet Explorer/Mozilla, saying that the website (all websites) is infected, and is a danger, and has several links that redirect me to a site to fully activate the "Antivirus" software. Furthermore, when I moved to another computer, and downloaded AVG 2011 (x64) and Adaware to install on her laptop, I find that I can no longer open ANY file except internet browsers. They're all registered as "infected" and I can no longer install any file. I also can no longer open taskmgr.exe, or any other system file.

It's a HP laptop, with Windows 7 Home Premium Edition (x64).

It's labeled as "Antivirus Scan". It links me to guardpe.com.
