I just recently download some .avi video files but I can't open it with any video players, whether it be DIVx, Windows Media Player, QuickTime Player, VLC Player, etc. Can anyone help? PLEAS
custom built gaming pc from early 2010,ps2 with 15 games all original,ps3 500gbs with 5 games all original, yamaha amp and 5.1channel surround sound speakers,46inch sony lcd smart tv.
here is an example using gspot (basically its similar to media info).on the pic you will see the video is mpeg 4.so you'd use a video player that supports mpeg 4 to play the video.i use windows media player with k-lite codecs installed to play everything.basic google search of a video player will give you the file type it supports.VLC is suppose to play everything.

VCL won't play the video wither. It keeps saying
"No suitable decoder module:
VLC does not support the audio or video format "undf". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this."
Sounds like the avi files you downloaded are corrupted. It doesn't recogize the files so none of the media players will play them.I would try and download them again.
A codec is a device or computer program capable of encoding and/or decoding a digital data stream or signal. The word codec is a portmanteau of 'compressor-decompressor' or, more commonly, 'coder-decoder'
"undf" is an undefined file. This may be because it is corrupted, or it is still in the process of being downloaded, and therefore vital information is missing.

He is right..to a point, use gspot to find out which codec is needed, you don't need a new player though, just need to install a new codec paste your findings from gspot into here.
It is either your file is corrupt if not. Try to use total video converter it can convert different video file format and it also can play different video format.
