I have 2 pcs in 1 room. The main pc has a usb wireless internet adapter for internet connection. The second pc is a few feet away and has no internet connection. I want to know what I can do with them. I ran an ethernet cable between the two and they were connected. This disabled my internet connection on the main pc.(obviously) By the way the main pc runs vista home basic and the second xp pro. I haven't played around with the setting of each network as I want to know what is possible first. Can I keep the two pcs connected via ethernet cable and have internet connection on both pcs? Also my main internet connection is in another room on another pc, but I cannot run any cables or connect any devices to it as it is not my cpu. I know I am not asking the right questions here, but I am a beginner at networking. ANY help would be very appreciated!
