Hi,
A friend has got a Sony Vaio VGN A397XP which has just a Centrino processor, 2GB RAM and 5400 spin disk. Hes struggling to edit large videos using Pinnacle Studio 14 because the screen preview is choppy or black. Typically his original AVI file is just under 1gb. Im guessing the machine just doesnt have the power to cope with what hes doing.

Anyone recommend any software that can run well on this spec of machine and with AVIs of this size?

Perhaps an older version of Nero?
