Used to use VirtualDub which worked a treat, but I have a new system, think I have installed everything I need to, but I must have missed something.

Virtual dub now gives this error when trying to open a file

Couldnt locate decompresser for format 'XVID' (unknown)

VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress videos. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable.
So tried to use Peck, and got this error message

Clip xxx.avi could not be joined. (The video stream format data was inaccessible. the file is corrupt, or is not a format recognised by this program)
Have satsukicodecs 4.3.0.1 installed.

Any help appreciated.
