I recently upgraded a hard drive in my IBM Thinkpad Z61M Laptop, and after installing XP 2. And Finally got a internet connection, I did all the Windows upgrade to SP3 and all that it entails, but Media Player won't play any DVD or any audio. So The message I get is " No HDA Audio Bus Driver" detected, so after some searching, I found a driver ,,but is says it's for SP2,,,my question is ,,
"Is that going to work or not due to the fact that I'm on SP3 ???"
I don't want to damage anything. Also,,,what kind of driver do I need to get so I can play DVD's as well???
Thanks for your help on this, Please let me know if you need further information as well.
Well,,,I found a program that can play DVD's and now I got no sound,,from anything. I can get beeps through the speakers and I can adjust the volume, but when I go to the "System" , and "Hardware Devices" All the sound and sudio is all shaded out,,,now I'm not sure if I have the drivers needed to "activate it" or not. So can anybody let me know what driver I need so Windows can "activate" the sound card ??? I confused as to either the sound card is shot and there for so is the rest of the laptop,,,,,or if it's just a driver issue.
Please let me know if you need further information.
