When DVD Shrink makes an ISO image I have it set to save to the C drive, yet it never shows up there. I've tried saving it to specific folders and it never shows up there either. I've also ran a search and no results come up. I'm using Windows 7. Where are my ISO images vanishing to?

Mine would store it in:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore

Do a search for *.iso

I think on your side screen options somewhere you have to check an option for compatibility files. That's how I found my files. But I'm rarely on windows and I don't do this stuff anymore. Otherwise, I suggest what Attar posted.

They're not in the Virtual Store folder and the search for *.iso yielded zero results.

As GryphB mentioned, set the properties to XP and Administrator.

strewth.. talk about moronic.. shove a disk in and start shrink.. it WILL ask you where you want to save that iso ..maybe it's not told to save an iso but is saving a directory or even "delete after burning".. then take note of where it saves to..

funny thing happened today in the library.. took out a dvd I have been wanting to watch for ages.. watched them calmly put a burned disk in the cover.. then spoke up..

apparently they had people borrowing films, burning copies, stealing the originals and returning the burned one.. so now they beat them to it.

what is the world coming to when your local library has to resort to little more than piracy just to keep hold of public property dvd's.

I asked them if they want any rare titles.. I have hundreds ;)

Do they Shrink it too?

In my case, it swears it's saving it in the root - in fact it's not.
But a search should turn it up.

attar, the same thing is happening to me where it says it's saving it in the root, but it really isn't. However, a search is not finding it. I've set the compatibility settings as you've mentioned. I'm concerned with having an abundance of missing ISOs slowing down my computer.

There seems to be many references to the phenomenon.
Save the .iso to a different location (other than the root).

I know the \appdata\ folder is hidden in the \username\ folder, so change the Tools > Folder Options to show hidden files and folders and eyeball it manually.

I already had it set to show the hidden files and folders and I've tried saving it to the desktop and other folders and it never turns up there.

I've actually read two of the three links you posted in my search for an answer.

This is a frustrating one. Thank you for all your help.
